HS2

Why not invest the £42.6bn designated for the HS2 in to the UK’s communication infrastructure? That’s where the future lies….

  1. Here here!!!!!!!!!!!! Even a fraction of that would deliver outstanding results, and given the basis of most of what we (collectively involved in UC/Comms etc.) is geared to mobile working and remote workforces, do we really need to be making that level of investment into a transport system that has no justifiable business case, needs a lot of external (Chinese) investment, and delivers no realistic benefit other than the employment of those involved in building it?

Aside from the staggering cost of deployment, how much will this cost to run?

Put the money into providing fibre to all communities, a reliable and fast infrastructure to underpin the communications needs – it’s been proven over the past 5 years or more that technology is moving people out of cities, so why do we need something to bring people into them?
